I recently began working on a C++ project at work. For the last 5 years I’ve been in the Java world and am exicted to pick up C++ again.
The lead developer for the tool can be described as a C++ guru. Excellent use of STL, proper levels of abstraction, template magic, etc. While chatting one day in his cube I noticed a couple of books from the C++ in-Depth Series. The conversation changed to books and topics on C++ and he quickly recommended them. I left his cube with Accelerated C++: Practical Programming by Example (C++ In-Depth Series) and Modern C++ Design: Generic Programming and Design Patterns Applied (C++ In-Depth Series)
.
See the attached Pages of this Post for a more detailed review of the above books, plus I’ll be posting reviews of other tools that I’m now using that help me develop C++.
Enjoy…
